EP(Change of Employer)

Post by farooq0520 » Thu, 09 Dec 2010 3:50 pm

Hi all, need some information. I found a new job and applied for EP on 30/11/2010, untill yesterday the status was "Pending inputs from vetting agencies, could take up to 2 months" and today the status just says "PENDING". Whats the difference, does that mean the vetting is complete and they will make the final decision, or doesn't mean anything right now. BTW, i have been on EP with same company for last 2 years and just had recently renewed mine a month ago. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.

I would imagine the two terms are almost interchangeable. Maybe they are seeking a little more clarity into some of the information you provided. But that is strange given you are an existing EP holder. Another alternative is that the MOM could be doing their diligence on your new employer?

The process for EP applications at the moment seems very fast. In fact extremely fast. I know 2 companies who had replies and successful EP application outcomes within 10 minutes of submitting them online earlier this week.

Maybe give them a call or pop down to see them. I have always found the MOM to be very helpful indeed on any questions I have raised.

Thanks Billy, i found it strange too, that i already have had EP for 2 years and just recently renewed it for 3 years with an existing company. So i thought with the new company application, it should be quicker. Maybe i give them a call today. I know my HR people already called them last week and they were told it usually takes about 1-2 weeks for all the vetting and verification. Are there any criteria, they will reject new employer, even though the pay is higher company is much bigger than the exsisting one. Thanks again for you input
