Wind In My Hair wrote:Gosh you guys sure take your beers seriously! Anywhere is fine with me, but having lived here longer than even SMS I feel obliged to throw in at least one suggestion so here goes:

There's an open air pub in Bishan Park where we can sit surrounded by greenery with a fair amount of privacy, and a quiet environment where we can hear each other. Can't recall prices of drinks but I think they are reasonable. Mainly it has a lovely ambiance.

Or we can go local and sit in a coffeeshop with one leg on a stool and one finger in our noses ;)
Might be a thought! Does the place also have finger foods? or a light menu?

As long as the finger is in your OWN nose.

Yes. Here's the official Middle Rock Bar website. And here's a blog review with photos.

Otay, bears and gerbils... I mean boyz and girlz... here is the skinny.

The Canopy Garden at Bishan Park is a fine place... and... wine costs $11 per glass and beer is $15 per pint... about the same as a Boat Quay expedition. So... I vote not... although breakfast on Sunday looks good and reasonable and I will try that one of these days.

Went to the Cold Storage Deli on Cuscaden... it does have tables out front... 10 people would use up every one of them... or close to it. You can look at the picture, and I judge this is not the place.

Went to the hawker center at what used to be the Meridien hotel, now the Concorde... at Orchard and Cavenagh. I think this is the place to go. Big Tiger is $7.50 per bottle. No wine, bring your own in a bag and no one will care. I've attached a map and a street view.

The only other place I can think of is Newton Circus. What say ye? Arrive between 6:30 and 7:00 PM?

Map of hawker center. Th yellow highlight is the hawker center.

Finally, a shot of the Cold Storage deli on Cuscaden.

Don't say I didn't say so :)

And no that CS shop would be like sitting outside a 7-11 on a very busy road.

The hawker strip by the Concord (ex Meridien)... and at the the end the seafood stall is great... big tables too.

Newton would be an alternative, but have to say I've had 3-4 big group meals at the former strip and it has just ... been cool.

It could work. We'd just have to hope for no rain as there isn't a alternative close by. CS is out though. Sounds like the prices are doable though. I'm game. Should be able to hit there around 7~7:15

The hawker center is covered. Plenty of parking. If push came to shove, there are multiple places in the Concorde Hotel/Meridien shopping mall.

Eh? What does the "all" in "y'all" stand for then?

See ya = see you
See y'all = see you all

Groan, you're giving me a headache and I haven't even hit the booze yet!

What's the latest time one can drop by? I'm not that confident right now that my work will let me leave such that I'll be there on time. :?

I'll be there around 6:30, most I think, 7'ish... a couple of hours anyway. SMS or call me (IX I VII 0 VIII IX III VIII) when you are ready to come and I'll give you status.
