Teaching English in Singpore

My partner is a certified English teacher from Australia and is looking for an opportunity to teach in Singapore.

We would greatly appreciate if you could inform me of any available vacacy for teaching English that you know.

Would probably be better to just have a look at the list of International Schools in my links page below and contact them directly or you can also try the MOE site

There are also a number of private english language schools which provide english enrichment classes....

This gives me an idea for a backup job if my IT job prospects dont work out since I read an article several months ago that private tutors could make up to $500K

Is there some sort of recognised qualification that you need in order to teach English?
I got a TEFL certificate several years ago but never did much with it and I dont think thats recognised anywhere....

Also are they racist when it comes to English teachers?
I'm not white but I've been living in Canada for over 20years.

Sounds like you are not a "Native English Speaker". They can be pretty anal about that here. Some still have this colonial hangup.
