Where can I donate clothes, etc.? Where can I recycle?

Post by ryac » Sun, 21 Nov 2010 11:49 am

Hi everyone,

I'm going to be moving to a new place soon and doing some cleaning. I gathered a bunch of old clothes I don't wear anymore, some backpacks I don't use, some toys as well, etc. I'd like to give these away, where can I take these items to?

I also have a lot of paper, brochures, magazines, newspapers. I'd like to recycle these but this seems to be difficult in Singapore. Any idea where I can take this?

I'm staying around Holland Village area.

Thanks.

The Salvation Army has a number of drop off points - do a web search.

paper products the karung guni man will buy off you for a couple of bucks/months (for a month of the local daily birdcage liner). They will normally take your old electronic equipment off you for a couple of bucks if in working condition. If you live in a condo complex or HDB estate, give clothes to the cleaners as they can use them or will send them home.
