If they can envision something that would change their mind, then ask them what it is. Next tell them that your own personal experience provides you with differing data (lie if need be) and ask them to explain the inconsistency.
When they fail to do so or struggle or try to garner more details and establish context etc, tell them that they are trying to change the subject or going off on a tangent or introducing new arguments or reiterate what they said before and how it is inconsistent with your experience.
Finally state that their failure means their original exposition was a lie.
