We are moving to Sing from the US next year, and we have 2 big dogs that need a yard. Husband will work in Orchard road area, but we are not sure yet about schools (we also have 2 kids). I have looked online at houses in the East, Woodlands, D9 and D10 districts, and it seems that the East and Woodlands houses do not really have yards, and the D9 and D10 districts have houses with yards, but they are very expensive. We would really like to stay at about $15k/month. Does anyone have a recommendation for us? Are there houses in the East and Woodlands that have yards? Are there other districts that I should consider? Thanks!

Be careful of those who approach you via PM without posting their message first online. Especially in matters of housing. Real Estate agents here are, for the most part, (our hosts excepted) slimeballs who are not to be trusted any further that one 1.5 meter 14 year old girl could throw one.
The further out you go, the more chance you will have in finding one. Used to be able to get Old Black & White (reverted british military officers housing) in Seletar Camp, and Sembawang for less then 12K but there is usually a waiting list there.... You could check with Premas International who handles them. I would suggest you contact our hosts of this forum first.

Also say, no one answering a straightforward public question is going to personal mail you with a private answer. Never mind a stranger with nil other posts.

Try Bukit Timah area. There are a few cluster housing there (its individual houses, some with yard and complete with facilities like gym & pool) as well as several landed properties around that area too. Its not too far away from Orchard so your husband can commute to work within a reasonable amount of time (via car/cab).
Another area (which is substantially lower than your budget though) will be Holland Village. Its also reasonably accessible to Orchard, and near the expat areas. They have conservation black and white houses and some of them have a very big yard (front and back). The price range is between $4-5K.
Do also note that renting a house is not common in Singapore so many of them are often not well maintained.

Casey,
A tip. Don't publish your e-mail address on the web, and certainly don't put it in your tagline. Or you're going to sink under the weight of spam you get.
Use edit and take it out.

Not worth really, look around there are cheaper options. This is a good place to start. Call and compare curriculum and rates.
