Shipping goods overseas

Post by nagar » Sun, 14 Nov 2010 12:15 pm

Hello,
I'm moving from Singapore back to Italy and I need to ship a few things.
I checked Singapore post but their rates are quite high (120$ for 10Kg in 2-3 months via surface mail).
Do you know any cheaper (and maybe faster) carriers?
Thanks.
Andrea

S$120 for 10kg is quite reasonable.
You won't find anything cheaper than that for small shipments!
If you want it faster, send by Singpost airmail.
Other forwarders might be faster, but cost much more.

The 120$ quote I got from Singpost is for surface mail (not airmail) at it will take 2-4 months to deliver.
I wonder if there's something cheaper for surface mail.
Thanks.

Sorry, my mistake, I have corrected my post above.
If you find anything cheaper than Singpost, please post it here to let everybody know.
But I think there isn't any such option ...

Agreed that SingPost will be cheapest. You can send 10 kg to Italy via Fedex for about S$180, including fuel surcharges. Your only other alternative is to find someone flying there and pay the extra baggage charge.
