DP Application - Passport & Marriage Cert different name

Hi guys,

Recently cancelled my wifes DP cause she was going to come back to Singapore on an EP.

The company cancelled the EP so now my wife is back home with no visa.

While in Singapore she changed her passport name to give up her maiden name and take up my surname.

So now her passport has a different surname than the surname appearing on her marriage certificate.

If she applies for a DP again would MOM make an issue cause the name on both is different?
On marriage certificate it is "XYZ ABC" and on passport it is "JKL ABC".

Kindly advice.

If in case it is rejected for the reason you have mentioned you can provide a letter of appeal with this reason and also the supporting documents. This should not be an issue usually

The first 2 sentences don't make much sense So your wife is coming back as a DP?

I waould personally attach a covering letter explaining the situation with photocopies of old passport which has her maiden name

I guess you need a letter from some authority that the 2 names are of the same person. If your wife was in Singapore you could have got an affidavit from the Indian embassy. Since she is in India I am not sure. Why not ask MoM, before applying?

Called MOM they said its not a problem.

They already have her FIN number listed under mine as my spouse.
