Looking for customised Messenger sling bag supplier/ manufac

Post by yongrong » Thu, 11 Nov 2010 1:09 am

Dear All,

I am intending to start a business - an entrepreneurship in dealing with own logo/brand customised design of messenger sling bag. So, i am not buying any already present in the market bag, i am looking for a manufacturer that is capable of producing the design i want. Of course, the details, brands and design concept will be provided by me. Anyway, my intention is to start up with a online business first to see how the product populate - meaning a initial surveying on the market hence the manufacturers might need to cater to my quantity request.

So anyone who know any reliable and good supplier out there able to customise bags for my own branding, please feel free to reply here the contact or send a message to my email: chan_yongrong@hotmail.com Or if you are just one of the supplier/manufacturer, feel free to contact me and discuss in further details. Thanks you

Your effort is heartily appreciated.

Anyway i would like to hear your opinion regarding this business as well. My targeted customers are students to young adults. Design that cater to modern needs.

Requirements:

- Reliable for long-term prospect

- Able to supply at a lower quantity at the start as there is a need for initial product surveying first.

- Good materials quality and durable

- Able to contain bulky item like laptops

- Affordable and reasonable pricing

Best regards,

Yong Rong.

Very difficult to make a living out of it, We have ours done for promotional activity only and give them away, there are quite a few people doing it, though they outsource the manufacturing too.

Mostly those dealing with corporate gifts can have them made, I do have an address someplace.

Hi,

Ya i know is tough, but i want to give it a try. Looking at the competitive bag industry : most common one are crumpler and zinc, but crumpler is slightly quite x for the avg students in here.

Hence i want to come up with a new idea to cater to this batch of customers at a lower and reasonable price.

I also like to know is there any risk to starting from a blogshop or online web.

Can you send me the supplier contact information? Thank you! =)

question: i ALREADY HAVE a product to sell, maybe i should market it online because it is easy, cheap or even free?

if your answer goes something like this; firstly i'll sign up for a free blogshop with an obscure name that says nothing about my business, I'll market in forums (like this one) and free classifieds, i'll market twitter with my products, i'll market ping with my products, i'll market my friends on FB, i'll also sell advertising on my blog to make extra cash!

market = spam?

another way to look at it, type "handbags sg" into google (About 578,000 results). why would someone come to your blog?

However if you were to initially sell via physical outlets such as; flea-markets, university events, roadshows and maybe the odd shop AND can shift your product with relative ease then start thinking about an online presence.

I purchased a bag myself, the first ever being a male that is. I spotted it in Taiwan, real leather and it hit my straight in the face, that bag is practical, it's a sling leather bag with everything i need, two pockets inside outside pockets and pen holders, mobile phone pouch. and my EEEPC fits into it like a glove.

So what I'm saying is think of needs, eeepc, ipads, phones, business cards, pens, you need a handy handy bag that is suitable for travel and work, presentable in business or social life, design your own and make a name for yourself, buy a sewing machine like i did myself and make a prototype.

Don't just think sling bag where to buy! Make it useful, I would actually be lost without mine and I'm pretty sure the one I have would sell very well. Though what i have seen in Singapore have been fashionable but not practical for my needs.

The one i use for promotions isn't what you are looking for, when you say cheap how cheap? I would sit down and think of fulfilling needs of consumers, with something useful.

Plenty of ideas on the net http://www.glimpse.com/br/qq-leather-sling-body-bag

I have some good ideas myself about bags, in fact I have far too many ideas and can never execute them becuase I'm already up to my eye balls with solving other peoples problems.

Ya what you said is true. In fact i have already had in mind the bag i gonna customise and sell. Even the sling bags that can hold water bottles and timetable window on the other side of the cover... i thought of everything that ppl will need and function able. I just need to know where i can get ppl to make them and the most appropriate way to advertise and sell them.

Is a bag that is both fashionable and functionable. Cater to both the sight and the needs of the ppl. Dont worry i know what you mean, and i am already on that track. Just need to get supplier and the method to sell them is what i am stack in.

To have your own design done, will be classified as OEM with a minim order quantity, you need to be very cautious on getting the right people to do it, there are plenty of copy artists around and you may end up with crap sewing quality, so you need some guarantees too that your product doesn't fall to bits after a month.

There are plenty on the internet, just search OEM, ODM Leather bags for your own designs, though there will be a minimum order normally 1k. I would suggest you go for 50 or less. But for your own design it will be expensive start up cost.

That's why you should make a proto type done first here in Singapore, there are a few guys that ca
