sorry, yes, that's the place. there is also another place a couple of doors up that gets really excellent reviews - Le Bistrot du Sommelier. It is the *budget* bistro version of Au Petit Salut (owned by the same people). I've been meaning to go forever. We went to Au Petit Salut for our anniversary and while we thought the food was lovely, I think it was incredibly expensive for what it was.JR8 wrote:Thanks Tinkerbell88, that is a really nice tip. I can't think where it is... the row of shophouses near McKenzie Chicken Rice?
St Jacques as in coquilles St. Jacques? That would be precisely my kind of thing...
Just googled it (streetview) and I know exactly where it is, so will certainly give that a go!
Creperie Des Arts, 44 Prinsep Steet.
Le Bistrot is opposite. probably the best value *Western* restaurant I've been to in Singapore. Warning, the servings are huge.
I'm also a fan of Wine Connection, Robertson Quay (we've lived above it for the last year a half!). The mains are fairly average, but not expensive at all. We usually make up a large cheese platter. The amount of cheese/dip/cold meats they give you is incredibly generous.
