I'll be relocating to Singapore shortly with my family and notice that everyone I talk to has live-in maids/childcare. Are live out nannies available? And at what approximate cost for 5 days a week care? We aren't looking for a domestic servant, just a good nanny to take care of our small children while we are at work.

Generally around S$12/hour.
If you need help more than two (8hrs) days a week, a live-in maid is cheaper.

It depends on the age of your child and what requirement you have for the centre.
Child above 3 is from $800-$1100

It also will depend on how experience you want the nanny to be. I have came across a few nannies recently who are asking for $15 an hour. There was one lady who had a very impressive background of testimonials and references with more than30 years of infant and childcare experience for Expatriates and was asking for $3000 monthly salary.

You can try to call this lady at 9879 0903. She is quite good. Can check the rate from her.

I believe they need a valid pass to enrol your child. Perhaps you can check with your school you've selected and see if they can provide some room...
