Hi All,
I would be appreciative if someone could please help me out here. I would like to be able to watch some of the stuff like the apprentice and mock the week from the BBC website but we cannot access the iPlayer because we are living outside the UK.
Are there any other sites that allow you to access the content or offer the latest TV shows other than YouTube? Also, would a proxy site work to gain access?
Thanks in advance.

There a couple of "gray area" bit torrent sites that carry UK content.

Proxy Servers can work.....but they have a tendency to be here today and gone tomorrow unless you can set up something specifically yourself. An alternative is to ask a relative/friend to help you out by installing a SlingBox back in Blighty.

there's 2 way to this...
- slingbox
- proxy (or vpn)
and yes, to get it reliable, you will need someone in UK to host it for you. have a search on the forum as this has been asked/answered a few times.

MPN = my private network
Proxy that works a treat. Even when bandwidth is bad to stream you can opt to download from BBC ( only remians valid for a week or so)

Fair comment but you get what you pay for i guess.
Put the 5 quid alongside the starhub fees then evaluate the entertainment value ( for me at least) and its worth every penny

Thanks for your help - think I will check out the private network subscription. It's worth every penny if I can get some recent U.K T.V as opposed to programmes from the 90's!!

how about this then...
http://www.bolehvpn.net/order.html
can give it a trial. or only have it a few days in a month and use iPlayer download to download all you can.
for me, i am using slingbox and 2 proxy running in the UK hosted on ADSL. if you got an friends left in the UK, ask them to host it for you. all they need to run is a laptop (small size and doesnt take a lot of electricity), proxy software and ADSL.
