I have a 32-year-old Myanmar domestic helper for transfer in Nov/Dec 2010. Salary $370. She has been with our family for 3 months plus (as of 8 Oct 2010). Like most new Myanmar helpers, her command of English and Chinese is very, very basic; only understands and speaks a few single words. Written instructions in English & a timetable will definitely help her a lot. She has been helping to look after my 83-year-old grandma, my 8-year-old boy & my 16-month-old girl, in addition to general housekeeping. Can do cleaning jobs, iron clothes & grocery shopping very well. Cooking skills unknown as my grandma is the fussy one who insists on cooking for the whole family. I find that she's not-too-bad a worker although she's not the type who learns very fast & will freeze in stone silence if she's presented with an unexpected situation. But my grandma, who can only speak Cantonese, insists on changing to another helper who can speak fluent Cantonese. I have no choice but to let her go. If you are interested in interviewing her, please email me at
