Hi,
I have interviewed and been accepted for an Assistant Professor position at Nanyang Technical University. Can anyone comment about the work culture at Singaporean universities (workload, administration duties, working hours, collegiality, promotion, support)?
I would be working in a social sciences/humanities context. Also, would I be likely to start at the bottom end of the salary scale even though I have 4 years of post-doctoral experience and have an extensive publication record? The university seems to be meticulous in terms of preparing their initial offer and I am wondering if I would have a position to negotiate terms. However, salaries in Singapore seem competitive, plus the lower tax burden.
Any advice greatly appreciated, thanks for your help.
cheers
