Fresh graduate salary

Post by sleek182 » Fri, 01 Oct 2010 12:17 am

I've recently graduated in IT with a good degree. How much should I expect to earn in an entry role in the IT industry?

Many Thanks

Rather than starting a new post , why don't you look it up on the search button under profile link and type in IT salary.
Read and absorb , then on if you still need more answers, throw a line someone will advise you

It would obviously depend on whether you are into Programming, design & development, media, infrastructure, etc. Assuming you are a local (a foreigner with an IT degree without experience isn't going to be able to get a working visa anyway) It's a competitive arena and probably just looking at the local classifieds section of the daily birdcage liner will give you a better idea of what employers are willing to pay.

The job would involve the whole software engineering process, so all the stages of the lifecycle such as analysis, design, programming some sales. I've done some research and I'm guessing around $2500 a month however i just wanted to ask some people on here as someone may have more knowledge than me on this matter.

Thanks for responses

no chance of 2500...aim at 1800 or 2000

Fresh grad from a local university? I'd be inclined to think 2200-2500 but again, it's supply & demand.

In computer related science, software the going rate in 2008 was between 2000 and 2500 for a Singaporean citizen. A foreigner would get maybe 1500 to 1800.

I'm sure there are forums where you'll find more local college grads than singaporeexpats
