Advice needed on temping agencies and other part-time work.

Discuss about getting a well paid job or career advancement. Ask about salaries, expat packages, CPF & taxes for expatriate.

Discuss about getting a well paid job or career advancement.
Hmmm. Well this isn't about career advancement or getting well paid.

Could anyone advise on temping agencies in Singapore? I am on a DP, and my wife has decided to not renew her current contract so we are leaving as I have had no luck securing full-time employment in the IT sector. Do temping agencies even exist here? Am I going to be bumping into the "you're not PR or Singaporean, very sorry" brick wall? I have been searching for bar work, and there may be some options there, but making sure I keep all options open at present, just to get us through until we leave.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If you are DP, and your wife has canceled her contract, then both her EP and your DP will be canceled very shortly, and you cannot work at all.

I'm very surprised you've not been able to secure any full-time IT work, in the banking sector in particular there has been a boom in hiring over the last few months (although seems to be cooling down a little now).

As for temp agencies, I don't have any experience of them but I'd say it's 99% certain you're going to get told "no Singaporean or PR, no job" as the likelihood of you getting a work pass or MOM approving your DP for part time work is pretty remote
