US spouse visa

Post by rickbrown » Tue, 28 Sep 2010 3:19 pm

Hello,

I'm a US citizen living in Singapore on a work permit. My wife, a Chinese citizen and a Singapore PR, is planning to apply for a spouse visa so we can both move to the US. We would like to hear from others who have gone through a similar experience. How long did the process take (the website says 3-6 months), what to expect during the interview, etc.

Thanks for taking the time,
Rick

Hi Rick,

Are you referring to "Immigrant visa for a Spouse of a U.S. Citizen (IR1 or CR1)"?

I’ve never heard of complication with the application process or the interview if you've been married for a while.
