Dear experts,
I have applied for PEP and I got the IPA. I haven't collect it (got 6 months before expired).
Somehow later I feel EP is more suitable for me as it is tied to specific employer. I have the MC/employer handle tax and work permit for me at the moment.
If I have my own PEP later, would it be the same case or now it's my responsibility to handle tax? The MC said they can do the same as before (with EP). I won't be in Singapore for a long time actually, only when the contract/work is there.
Because of these reasons, I tried to ask just to prolong my current EP. But somehow later the MC/employer said they can't extend it because there is application ongoing already (the IPA of PEP).
Is it possible or convenient just to cancel the IPA of PEP and then ask the employer to extend or create new EP later?
Or, should I just go with PEP instead?
Best Regards.

What is an MC? In Singapore an MC is a Medical Cert that you get to prove you when to the doctor instead of going to work.

If you are switching visa's from EP to PEP there is no difference as to who manages what. The PEP just allows you to change employers with less paperwork than on an EP.
Now that you have your IPA I would not confuse the issue. I would go ahead with the PEP. If you want to go back to an EP, then you would need to cancel the IPA and submit the application for the EP and it is likely that this might be an issue in getting your EP renewed (as has happened to other members of the board). Don't try to "play clever" in this environment - you're likely get burned.

Agreed. Now is not the time to "play-play" when the gahmen are 'looking' for ways to 'reduce' the foreign population. Best thing to do is to lay low and try not to rock the boat.

Having just re-read your post, are you aware of the criteria for the PEP? You need to earn a minimum salary of $30k(?) pa IN SINGAPORE for 12 months. Are you sure that you will meet this criteria (although I don't think you have any choice in the matter at the moment).

Hi All,
It is Management Company.
Seems to me best to continue with PEP.
Oh yes I'm aware of that I need to earn that amount in a year. Actually from my current EP IPA there is kind of information to apply for PEP. That's why I applied.
Thanks for all responses.

Also note that even if you earn 30k a year you must not be jobless for more than 6 months continuously for your PEP to remain valid.
If you have a valid reason why you were not able to get your PEP issued within its expiry, write that as a letter to MOM and ask appeal for getting it issued again?

A question for your insurance company I guess. As a matter of interest, your STVP does have your FIN on it, so perhaps the FIN is still active?
