Hello,
We are Australians currently living in HK and moving to Singapore mid next year. We are enrolling 4 year old son at preschool at
Australian International School, and my husband will work near Clarke Quay (George St), so wanting to get your advice - live near to school or work (or halfway)?
Can people with kids at Aus Int school advise where they decided to live and why? I am not currently working, and understand astronomical price of cars, but will most likely bite the bullet and get one as I have not had one in HK and really miss the flexibility.
Thanks!

Hi
We moved to Singapore from Oz approx 9 months ago and faced exactly the same dilemna. We ended up finding a place right next to the school - it takes our 2 kids a minute to get to school (bit older than yours). Also handy for weekend sports activities run at the school. My hubby travels to work by MRT (5-7 mins walk from home). The MRT is clean, efficient and cheap. The school runs a a good bus service (with a chaperone) - depending on where you live, the bus ride could be anywhere upto an hour (early start for kids to hop on the bus). Our trade off is we are not close to Orchard Road - its pretty easy to get cabs here. All the best.
