Where to buy Occasion Wear (wedding) for mature lady?

Post by love2travel » Mon, 30 Aug 2010 1:27 pm

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help. My Mum is currently visiting me in Singapore and we have been looking for a wedding outfit for her to wear to my brothers wedding back in the UK at the end of the month. She wanted to get something in Singapore and I thought it would be very easy given the amount of malls and shops here!

We traipsed down Orchard Road in most of the malls and City Hall malls on Saturday but only really found anything suitable in Robinsons. All of the shops seem catered for younger people - where do older women shop??? She doesn't want anything too expensive, budget is probably up to about $200-250.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful.

Thanks :)

Go to the clothing stores along Arab street, and you can find some of the more traditional outfits, theres also a mall that end of town near a huge car park that seem to have nothing but formal wear (local style)

Thanks for the help, she is looking for a traditional British Mother of the Bride outfit, not sure if she would be interested in local style but I will let her know, thanks!

Cool, I will have a look - thanks! Trying to avoid M&S unless she doesn't find anything else, always the chance someone else will have the same outfit if she gets it from M&S!
