If you go through with it via Amazon, Amazon will NOT let you purchase any item if it can't deliver to your address even if the item will be sourced from other retailers.

Does this also apply to 2nd hand books? Where the seller might just be an individual and unwilling to make the effort to send it to Singapore?

I'm not sure if individuals sell on Amazon but third party stores sometimes sell 2nd-hand stuff, including books.

If ordering, purchasing and delivery details were handled by Amazon. How I understand third-party retailers on Amazon is that, Amazon looks at these retailers as well for stocks. To the user, it still feels like Amazon except that Amazon tells you they're getting it from another supplier but you're still paying Amazon and Amazon will still handle the shipping.

I tried ordering a CD from a third-party store and when I tried to proceed with payment, Amazon told me the store won't ship abroad and so wouldn't let me proceed until I removed or replaced the item from a store that will ship overseas.
