MoM says one thing, ICA says another

Postby ukdesigner » Tue, 24 Aug 2010 10:06 pm

Hi guys,

just need to check something. I'm pretty sure I know the answer but just need verification.

My pass expires this friday and whilst I have the aip letter and also the collection date and time to pick up my new pass I'm 99.9% sure I need to go down to ICA and get a SVP stamp in my passport as my pick-up from MoM isn't until next week. If I don't I'm sure I'm gonna be in the shit when they asl me to surrender my current pass and put 2 and 2 together that it expired several days earlier.

MoM says I don't need to do anything, yet ICA says I have to go down there and get the stamp. Who's right? I'm sure ICA are but need confirmation that my gut is right.

Cheers.

Can you please check if your IPA letter contains a Social Visit Visa in it? are you doing this on a renewal for a pass?

the aip states that I must have a SVP to continue working. I'm on the entrepass, not the standard EP. The appointment letter says jack all. I have issued my pass but it's a 2-step thing these days. Issue your pass and then make an appointment. Not very simple especially when you can only do them one at a time and on different days.

Actually I've just noticed that I might be able to apply for the SVP via EPOL. It's on the menu system of the sheet I've printed out.

now my acknowledment page for the issue of my pass states the pass validity from 20/08/10 till 27/08/11. Does that mean that technically I have a pass but just don't have it in my hands?

You need to print out that validity page and just keep it in your passport.
