Track days at Pasir Gudang

Post by curiousgeorge » Tue, 24 Aug 2010 5:19 pm

I spent the morning on Sunday at Johor Rack Track.

At 8am on a Sunday the traffic through Woodlands and JB is pretty light, from Newton to Pasir Gudang in about an hour.

RM50 for an hour on the track, bikes in the morning and cars from 1.30pm.

The practice days are very relaxed, very much a "ride what you brung" affair, including the odd souped-up Wave 125 alongside Grand Tourers and the usual Ducati/KTM/Rice Rocket superbikes (and the occasional F800GS  )

Because everyone knows it is a practice session, the fast guys will overtake the slow guys without intimidation. It's nice to crank open the throttle without the risk of a ticket. And a great excuse to fill the tank with cheap petrol on the way home.

You have the option through some cycle or car clubs to also head up to Sepang and get on the grown-ups track ;)

Yeah and some friends do...but you can't do that for an hour on Sunday morning then take the Mrs shopping in the afternoon...easier to get a pass-out for a couple of hours than a whole day/weekend riding to Sepang & back...
