Looking for good Korean food.

Post by jshin12 » Mon, 23 Aug 2010 3:17 pm

Hi all, looking for any recommendations on good Korean food. So far, all the feedback has been that Sing has none worth mentioning. I've been frequenting Kim Dae Mun Korean food in the basement food court of the Concorde Hotel. It's respectable, some dishes authentic while the others fail miserably. Any suggestions?

Square 2, the mall behind Novena Square/Velocity has a few Korean restaurants. I've eaten at a few but I have no idea what is good or bad Korean food, sorry!

Sounds like you need to go to Korea for what you're looking for... (or a cooking class)
Try Kim's Family Restaurant - the food is not top end, but then again, neither are the prices.

The Korean place in the basement of Concorde is not good - I second the recommendation for Kim's Family Restaurant.

The Singaporean interpretation of bi-bim-bap (비빔밥) that you find in food courts is the only good Korean food I've found so far. Cheap, too. Tried the BBQ place in China Square -- wouldn't pass muster in Seoul.

Try Jang Won at Mosque street. I found their spicy pork and grilled mackerel quite authentic at reasonable prices.
