Carpentry or woodwork course

Post by brendanrtw » Thu, 19 Aug 2010 12:34 pm

I considering a change in career following 15 rather mundane years in IT

I'm trying to find a woodwork, or carpentry course in Singapore, and so far have come up with a big fat zero. I am interested in either a night, or short term course having previously done one in the UK.

Does anyone know of one? I've tried all the vocational schools etc .. but to no avail.

Thanks

I am afraid there is not much you can do in terms of becoming a chippy here. Most of it taught at secondary schools and vocational institutes as part of another program NOT WOOD WORK per se.
Most of them are own business and the trade has been passed from one generation to another
Chippy is not in demand here. Houses or apartments are made of concrete with structural steel.

Try NZ Manukau Institute of Technology or Unitec. They have a carpentry course
