One can only hope, that if it gets built, that somebody flys a plane into it. It would serve them right for their gross insensitivity if it wasn't being done deliberitely. But requesting permission to have their grand opening on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, well, if their is a god, and I seriously doubt it, may his retribution smite them down. It's funny in a way. Before the elections, most were afraid of what might happen with a black president, little knowing that it wasn't his blackness that needed to be watched, but his radical muslim side. His affair with the Rev in Chicago was nothing but a smokescreen.

So why do they need to build ANOTHER that even the current mosque is distancing itself from with a disclaimer on their site. This mosque has been in operation since 1970.

Obviously, the moderate muslims of the USaren't as moderate as they would have you to believe either, else they wouldn't stand for a symbol of a radical majority being erected within eyesight of ground zero either.

Why? We are all allowed to have our personal opinions, even if they go against yours, r.n.t's or anybody else. Where is the untruth of what I've written. JFK he's already proven he's not. His "idealism" was an election ploy that the so called young & educated swallowed hook, line & sinker. It would seem he's backpedaling rapidly from his initial comments now that he's found out that there are a lot, if not the majority, who feel just like I do. So, while I've modified the reference to what I'd like to see happen, I'll not delete the post.

SE, I've tried to find where the 2nd mosque you refer to is located but without success.

I think, from what I've been able to find, there is only one mosque there and it's the one that has tried to expand but it is not they who are trying to build the second site and as noted on their site, they are not affiliated in any way with the proposed building of that Islamic Cultural center. Have a good read of the link I posted on the mosque that's been there for 40 years.

Edited:

Okay, I see where you are coming from but a slight correction. The 2nd mosque is located some 12 blocks away, not within 4 blocks. The other would seem to be from a breakaway Imam ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feisal_Abdul_Rauf )from the mosque located further away. It is this Imam that wants to build the cultural centre (he currently conduction prayer meetings in the old Burlington Coat factory which IS inside the 4 block radius but this is apparently only spillover crowds from the younger mosque 12 blocks away. Apparently there is considerable difference in the way they conduct their operations as well. I, as well as the majority of Americans on both sides of the political fence, still think it's a bad idea. Not the building of a new mosque, but the proposed location.
