Permission to give birth?

Post by poodlek » Fri, 13 Aug 2010 10:38 pm

Maybe it's the pregnancy brain, but I can't seem to find just what I'm looking for on the forum. Apologies if the topic has already been covered.

My question is: as a Dependent's Pass holder (my husband is on a P1 I think) do I need to go through the whole "Visitor seeking permission to deliver a child in Singapore" or do I just apply for a Dependent Pass for the little one once it is born?

You have a limited amount of time to notify & apply for the Dependents Pass. Birth should be registered within 14 days and the short term visa is valid for 42 days to give time to apply for the dependent's pass.

Important information:

* Applicants who hold non-English documents or certificates are required to submit a copy of the original papers and the official English translation certified by the respective embassy.
* For babies born in Singapore, the parent has to report to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) with the letter issued by the hospital to obtain a short term visit pass. This pass is valid for 42 days, during which, an application for DP can be submitted.

OK I was on the right track then. I don't need to request permission since I'm already residing here. Thanks!
