Singapore vs (N.Y. city or Chicago)

Post by KotMot » Mon, 09 Aug 2010 4:53 pm

I have never been in US, but nuclear conflicts and Asian growth says to me to think a lot. I work here for one of Investment Banks for several years and I want to continue to move in my Financial Engineering direction.

Singapore is nice to live, but to make your dreams come true - is it real?
If you just want a good and safe life, maybe yes. But science...

Also, SG has less possibilities - my Singaporean friend who lived in US said this to me.

Well, I'm not happy here, not fully filled if to be precise. After working with people from Europe I understood that it also will not be a right direction.

Should I follow my will, take a risk and move to US? Have you worked there for J.P. Morgan, Goldman, ...? Won't it be a mistake?

just do it.

i can't answer your question... i'm not sure if anyone but yourself willl be qualified to... but...

IN MY BOOKS: NYC, NY Knicks, Rangers and the Mets RULE ALL.

just move on over, and get a taste of what it's like. it'll look good for your resume, whatever the outcome.

the grass is always greener on the other side, so go figure... from the other side!

If you like living at a fast pace then you should move. If you want to live, breath and sleep work, then you should move. If you can handle the cold, then you should move. America is blessed with many beautiful places to visit but to live here can take it's toll on your social life.

refresh your thoughts, first why should you want to go in a different country? what are your goals that you want to achieve? Living in this world is already difficult as we have to live to make a fortune, but taking risks is taking a challenge, and a difficult change is worth taking as you might learn something from it.
