Hello all,
Kindly forgive me for posting another topic about PR, i tried to browse through but can't find similar situation to mine. Here is my situation:
I obtained my PR in mid '05 after completing my grad studies and work in spore for about 2.5 years. End of '07 i found overseas job and returned to my home country. Now we stay at my home country. My REP will expired around end of this August and at the same time i am scheduled to stop by Spore during my office trip in mid September. I understand that although i submit my tax assessment online, but without contributing CPF in last two years, my REP will not be extended thus my PR status will also be cancelled. My questions are:
1. Should i process to ICA to renounce my PR during my visit or just let it be?
2. How long does it take to complete all the renouncing PR process, including withdrawal of CPF funds? Because I need to estimate how long should i stop by in Spore
3. My wife last time got LTSVP, now expired and we have kid who born and raised in my home country. Now he's 2 yrs old. What will happen to him should one day he want to study or work in Singapore? Will he still considered 2nd gen PR and liable to do NS or considered new people to Spore government?
Thank you very much and looking forward to your advice

Yes go and return your blue IC for renounciation
2. How long does it take to complete all the renouncing PR process,
One hour max if no queue
including withdrawal of CPF funds? Because I need to estimate how long should i stop by in Singapore
30 minutes after you got the letter from ICA of accepting your PR renounce
You need to supply a local bank or POSB under your name will be best as it easy and no authentication needed
3. My wife last time got LTSVP, now expired and we have kid who born and raised in my home country. Now he's 2 yrs old. What will happen to him should one day he want to study or work in Singapore? No, he is not as he is NOT born here and moreover you did not apply for him any LTVSP at all. Should be not an issue when he comes to age
Thank you very much and looking forward to your advice
