Price Range

Post by jjge01 » Sun, 08 Aug 2010 1:53 pm

Hi All,

I am potentially relocating to singapore for work. Work is located near changi so i want to live on east coast (although i am flexible) and just need to be near an MRT or Bus.

I live alone at the moment and want the same arrangement in singapore but the prices seem extreme! I aunderstand i'll need an agent and that they'll show me around but before i accept the job i want to know what im in for....

A few questions:
-HBD is fine but it would need to be modern and with aircon. Is this hard to find and what is the price range?
-Private Apart/COndos are preferred and again air con is mandatory. What is the price range?
-Do prices vary from area to area?
-How much more can i expect for fully furnished?

THANKS for any help!

It's not possible to answer your questions, as the age, size, room number, condition and location of all HDBs or condos is so variable.

Having said that, "east coast near to Changi" is a big enough area, sure you will find something. Everywhere is near a bus, a lot of places are near MRTs.
Yes, most places have aircon these days, except for much older places. Prices do vary according to area, obviously near town or CBD is more expensive. Out towards Changi is going to be at the cheaper end of the market. For fully furnished add anything from $300 to $3000 depending on the size/quality etc.

Your best bet is to read the excellent guide on this site http://www.singaporeexpats.com/housing- ... gapore.htm

From there you can search your preferred areas and get an idea of sizes and prices for each location. (Hint - tick the box that says "do not display properties without prices" to exclude those "fishing" agents).
