Hi,
Just wondering if its better to enrol my kid from Year 2 onwards (Primary) without starting from Year 1.
MY son goes to a local kindy and very happy there. But we have already registered him for Primary at Chatsworth East.
If he doesnt start from year 1 will he miss anything and will it be hard for him to adapt ?
Any chatsworth parents who went through this process ??

why not observe the capabilities and abilities of your kid? it could help you decide whether or not to make him go to school on a level that is too early for his age..

Hi
Thanks for the reply. Actually I dont intend to put him early to a higher stage.
Their grading is different but the age matches with my son's age.
Only questions is will he miss anything or will be hard to adapt if he doesnt go from year 1 onwards ?

I think there will not be a problem at all. Your son will probably be able to read and write better than other kids in Y2. Private school has a lot of 'learning through play' which is great as my son is exposed to a wide range of interesting activities.
Typically local kindy teaches more on reading, writing, etc. There is not much catching up to do with 'learning through play'.
