Aussie teenager and obtaining a licence in Singapore

Post by Tiger5151 » Mon, 02 Aug 2010 9:14 am

Can anyone advise me about the process for a teenager to get a learners drivers permit in Singapore. Can you teach them to drive yourself or does it have to be by a driving schools?

Also if successful in obtaining the Singapore licence can it be converted in Australian easily?

Appreciate any advice

Try this link

It has to be in a driving school or a accredited driving instructor.

To convert to OZ license will depend on whether OZ LTA can accept your license or not. What I did b4 was I converted my SG License to International Driving Permit when I stayed there for a wee bit. I used the IDP to retake the theory and straight get my full driving license in OZ instead of going thru the whole process in OZ again.
Unfortunately OZ does not recognise SG Driving License, only UK, America, European and Japan driving is recognised here. I am not sure if this rule is being lifted as I done years ago
