Laundry in Cairnhill/Orchard

Post by drummonds » Mon, 26 Jul 2010 8:44 pm

Perhaps this may be the most banal topic ever but I thought that the kind souls here might know the answer. I live on Cairnhill Crest (recently moved here from CA in the USA) and walk to the Somerset MRT every day to head to work. I would LOVE to find a laundry service somewhere between here and there. I've poked around Paragon, 313, and a couple others but they seem too nice for laundry shops.

Anyone know of any that are convenient for my walk?

Thanks,
Scott

Cuppage Plaza

I found one in Cuppage plaza. They do the laundry by weight. Probably do dry cleaning too but I just used them for laundry. I found them to be fast and helpful. I can't remember the name but the "concierge" when you walk in can point it out. Was easy to find.

There is one at Paragon basement. It is tucked at the corner, nearer to Breaktalk & Canele (look for the lift). Another one is at Centerpoint, at the basement too. After you go down the stairs, you will see the 7-11. Walk a bit more and you will find the laundry services.

There is laundry services in many shopping malls in Singapore but they are located at the basement, tucked in a tiny corner most of the time.

Welcome to the neighbourhood!

I've lived on Orchard before, and I second KindClare's recommendation! They do indeed go by weight, which makes their rates very good. Also, they do the laundry "on site" which makes them fast (within a couple of days). Some others have to deliver your clothing to their 'centralized' wash place, takes much longer. I believe the name is Washy Washy or something like that.
It's common sense - if you try to come in before I go out, I can't go out. And you can't come in! Lose-lose!

Although it is quite belated, thank you very much for the help! Cuppage and Paragon are very convenient. Will try these places out.

Thanks!

Scott
