Enquiries on Ship Brokering

Post by theheartkeeper » Mon, 26 Jul 2010 1:53 pm

Hey guys,

I'm a fresh grade in accountancy and am currently looking for jobs. I'm interested in the ship brokering trade but it seems that it is very difficult to get into this line. Does anyone know what are the requirements and where should I start of to be able to get into the ship brokering trade?

Thanks.

Ship Brokering is like arms dealers. It is NOT what you know but who you know.Don't dream of it now. Work your way up
You must know alot about ships, barges and the one that makes alot is those dealing with oil. You can start with Inspectorate. They certify oil qty among others . They do have an office here in SG.
Neptune Orient Lines do offer midshipman courses. This one way you can start your way up. Goh Chok Tong was from there . Look where he is now. Senior Minister of Singapore :D
