No, but there's this great homestyle Thai food eatie at East Coast Road, along the road, called Nids Place - look it up in the directory. Price is good, food is good, not the run of the mill Thai food you get at ThaiExpress or the exxie stuff at the dress-up restaurants.

I went there probably 6 months ago for lunch. Average at best. The place was empty, which probably says something

BEST place for Thai food, save the ambiance, is still Golden Leaf at Sunshine Plaza, Bencoolen street. It is home-cooked,aromatic, and surprisingly authentic. Prices are affordable and lots of Thais eat there too. The menu is well-illustrated and indicates signature dishes which hold true to their promise. This is a real hole-in-the-wall of a hidden gem! :D

Hey Toothy,
it's on the first level. It faces the main road, I think it is directly opposite Nafa. Lots of parking in sunshine plaza, but I guess you can take the MRT too, but I don't know which stop the closest one is. The food is amazing, and piping hot when it arrives. It's a tad on the greasy side, so you gotta make up for that later with a long run :D

My favorite is sabai at takashimaya. But it is not cheap.
Best mango salad and pamelo salad.

I like this outlet that serves Thai steamboat and hot plate, Muukata. Check this out http://www.hungrygowhere.com/singapore/Thai_Tanic/

Sabai (at Ngee Ann City) is said to be one of the best Thai restaurants in town, but it's rather pricey judging by the menu, and although I know people who recommend it highly I have yet to give it a go (doesn't exactly seem like the place to bring a family with infants to).

Stay away from the Thai chains as they offer miserable grub.
I have to say I agree - I hear from people in the trade that a lot of the food "cooked" in some of the chain Thai places is prepared centrally in the morning, trucked to the various outlets, then reheated/finished off just before serving. While some preparation is done in most cuisines, I have to wonder how the quality is affected by being transported then finished off hours later.
