Hi all,
I'm a Hong Konger who's hoping to get permanent residence in Singapore. I've tried to research on the various websites and forums but found many differing information and am not sure of the PR schemes for Hong Kongers.
Here's what i found and need clarification for:
Alternative PR scheme for Hong Kongers - I've read on some Ministry of Foreign Affairs website that there's a special scheme for Hong Kongers. [http://app.mfa.gov.sg/generator/asppage ... cation.asp] They directed to the SMC group which said that we can apply for the Global Landed PR Scheme.
However, i read on several other websites that there's actually a Approved-in-Principle (AIP) PR scheme for Hong Kongers in which holders can obtain PR status if they secure a job or relocate their family to Singapore within the 5 years validity period. I'm also not so sure whether the scheme till exists as i can't find it on the immigration website.
From what i understand, it seems as though SMC is the designated agency for PR application for Hong Kong. Thus, it's a little confusing as i feel that the AIP PR scheme seems to be a easier way to obtain PR.
Just as a side note: I'll be graduating from a university with a advertising degree this December. The Global Landed PR scheme seems to be more for those who are professionals, managerial or specialist job or students who graduated from a reputable university. I'm afraid that it might be a little harder to get approval for that.
Would appreciate if someone could give some advice or redirect me to the right page here! Thanks in advance! ((:
