Outlook of Semiconductor Industry in Singapore

Semiconductor Wafer Fabs, of which there are a few in Singapore, are so high in investment and difficult to move that the existing ones will remain where they are to the end of their operational life. But this industry is not expanding in Singapore any more (it does in Taiwan and China).
Other semiconductor-related industries like electronics packaging or testing services, which are easier to move, have mostly gone to China and other low-cost locations.
