Balding

Post by louy » Sat, 10 Jul 2010 5:24 pm

Is there something in the water in Singapore that makes you more likely to go bald ??

I am worried that my hair is falling out, and I am not even in my 30's yet. I notice there are more bald people here than anywhere else I have been to.

And not just guys. I see a lot of balding ladies in this country.

Should I be scared ?? Does anyone have any preventative measures ?? Prevention is better than cure and maybe it is best I start early

Have not noticed anything like this. What I have noticed: tons of ads regarding hair loss treatment.

I think it' a case of more people not caring about wearing wigs/toupees and the fact that there does seem to be a proliferation of advertising for balding. Well, actually, not that many, but just heavy advertising by a couple. Frankly, I've been bald since my late 20's so at almost 63 it really doesn't bother me that much. Although, after losing 26 kg 2 years ago, I shaved my head entirely (except for the beard that is) and have been wearing it that way ever since. Bald is great. It's much cooler in the tropics than having hair.

I started losing my hair when I was 32, more often than not it is hereditary. Forget about hair loss treatment - there are few things that replace lost hair, those that do are very limited and sometimes have dangerous side effects (the drug regain for example if memory serves me correctly).

Anyway, what is there to scared of? You won't die from it and believe it not ladies often prefer baldies, the old fart posting above me can probably tell you the same. :P

I read on a message board in Singapore once that too much MSG can make your hair start to fall out - the person who posted that said that's why you see so many old ladies here with thin hair.

Whether or not that's true I don't know but what is true is that you DO see loads of old ladies with thinning hair here, so there could be something in that theory.

maybe this should cheer you up"

when God made the human head, he realized that some heads are not as good looking so he decided to cover them up with hair...

I know a few guys who shaved their head because
1) They think they look sexier bald
2) The weather is simply too hot!

Therefore, seeing many bald guys doesn't mean they are bald, by natural?

Although I have to agree, that there are more balding women in Singapore than other countries.
