Renewal of lease

Post by Zeenit » Fri, 09 Jul 2010 10:38 am

Hi People

We been here almost 2 yrs and would not mind renewing where we now are. But as we have THREE condos' been built in our road we have asked the LL to reduce the rent by $300 per month.

They have now come back and offered us $100 less per month as we only renewing on a 1 yr term.

Question I would like to know is how can I get in contact with the LL himself as there are TWO agents involved and not sure who is looking after whom.

I cant believe the LL would complain over $300 per month as we have never bothered them in the two years.

I guess all the usual ways starting from requesting the contact info from your agent (v. weird you don't have it) or trying to look up his phone/address in the places like white pages .

Husband has the lease contract not me. So if I look in there once he tells me where he filed it, I can get the information? :D

Wouldn't it have been an idea to talk to your husband and look in your paperwork first?

@ Jaycee, as my husband has been working 15 hour days I dont think that hassling the poor tired man for something I can find out myself is UNREASONABLE.

But thanks for your words of advice.

So if it's not unreasonable to ask him, why don't you do it then?

I'll be very surprised if the LL contact details were on the TA. My LL contact details aren't on my TA

Likely. We had to kinda enforce it and in one case all we got was a phone number. Still worth to try with the white pages - the names should be on TA :)
