Hi everyone,
I'm new here so I'm not exactly familiar with the customs of this forum. Please go easy on me if I say something stupid. Anyway...
I was born in country A, immigrated with my family to Singapore at age 3, got my sg citizenship, left sg at age 16 because my PR status in country C was expiring, so my parents shipped me away without my consent (of course I could have run away from home, but that's not very practical). Therefore, I did not serve NS. Now I have dual citizenship (sg + C) and at age 21, I want to renounce my Singapore citizenship and return to Singapore for short vacations. I do not plan to work in Singapore.
My question is: Will they accept my renunciation? If they do, can I go back to Singapore, safely?

There is enough reasons, quotations, citations and anecdotal evidence right here on this board for you. Not necessary for us to regurgitate it again. All you need to do is read. If you still don't believe us, come to Singapore. MINDEF will welcome you with open arms (after serving your prison term for being a deserter).
SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers
