Hi I was wondering if somone could offer me some advice. I am relocating to SG at the end of July with my family and was wondering what is the best area to look in for apartments? My area of employment is the East Coast.

you'll have to be more specific and details abound already in existing threads. moreover, please use the search function to look for these threads.

if you working in the east coast, then look for a place in the east coast, unless you like commuting to work and back, then look for the west coast.

I have done some research and many of my friends are saying Bedok is a good area to live in especially for children. What are peoples thoughts on that?

you should be ok; bedok has that suburban feel to it. about travelling, you could check with gothere.sg or google maps for driving/commuting directions to/from a potential apartment when you start house hunting.
