Yeah, but it is hard to believe this is the only place... I was hoping for a bank with some multiple branches or a money exchanger. Beach Rd is not exactly on my commuting route.

Some money changers accept them as well I believe. Have you tried any of them?

Mustafa Money Changer changed my Amex Traveller checks in back 1999. They asked for my passport as ID proof and changed the checks on the spot.
I'm not sure whether they still do.
It's in my blood. B(e) Positive.

To the original question, you can have it exchanged at the Amex Forex Counters at the airport(T1, 2 & 3)
