Internships and requirements.

Post by enemi » Mon, 05 Jul 2010 11:25 pm

Hi there,

I have just graduated and am currently in Singapore on a Social Visit Pass.
However, I have managed to get in touch with an organisation and they have offered me an internship position.

I need some advice on this matter, as I am not too clear about the information provided on the ministry of manpower.

Do I require a Work permit or the Training Employment Pass?

Also, is it legal for interns to be paid?

Thank you in advance.

If you've been offered an internship by an organization, its HR dept will take care of all that for you and advise you accordingly. Why not just call the HR dept up and ask?
It's common sense - if you try to come in before I go out, I can't go out. And you can't come in! Lose-lose!

Thanks for the response

On top of that, I would like to ask if anyone have been through the same process and typically how many working days would it take to be processed?

Thank you.

It's stated on MOM webiste. Go check the link that sms gave you.

If it is online, application is immediate, results you will know within seven days.

If it is manual then like it said on the website results will be in five weeks.

Heck!!! In reality, only those guys from MOM know how long it will take.

The important thing is once it's approved then make sure you have necessary docs to submit.

I thought HR from your organization will explain that to you.

For the time being, you cant do anything except wait and wait and pray.
