Foreigner P1 marring a ex work pass holder Chines e RPC ?

Post by jeflemataf » Mon, 05 Jul 2010 9:24 pm

Alot of Singaporean wanting to marry Work pass or ex work pass holder.
I got another case:
I am not singaporean or PR, just a P1 .
I met my girl friend in singapore while she was on the marriage deadly work pass
She has now returned to China ...
We decided we want to continue live together , and decided to marry .so she may apply for dependant pass.
Seemed simple enough ...
untill I read all these horror stories ...
Do you know if the WP banned marriage rule apply to 2 non Singaporean ? We want to marry in Singapore where I reside.

Sure you can marry her. But, you stand the chance of not being able to obtain a LTVP or Dependents pass for her. Although I cannot find anything specific, I would be willing to be you could get her a Dependent's pass as it's tied to your EP. However, should you decide to take up PR, she would not be given PR or an LTVP either and would be banned from staying in Singapore.

Having said all that, you can always apply to MOM for permission to marry her. If they give her their blessings, then you are good to go.

There is no world without Verona walls. Hence banished is banish'd from the world, and world's exile is death. hen banished is death mistermed.
O deadly sin! O rude unthankfulness!
This is dear mercy and thou seest it not.
Hence!
- I come from my lady Juliet! -
Verona law is death to any he that utters them.
The world is not thy friend, nor the world's law!
Then be not poor, but break it...Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things.
Some shall be pardoned, and some punished.
For never was a story ofmore woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.
