Que? "What you talkin' about boy?" What are you drinking Kayser? Must be a good drop! BTW Where is that Aussie news channel ABC we had? I don't see it anymore on the new Starhub list. I'd like to see how this is all going down back home....bah humbug...
Ozchick this is now your registered trade mark, no matter where you walzamatilda! I've actually been dry for 9 days, had to, I broke out in a bad allergy and i suspected my liver enzymes may have been a bit high. Been averaging 9.6km runs every night and lost 6kg to date :) Got to prepare for the next binge with SMS and the gang!
Would kill to be able to binge. After 2 glasses of anything I just go bye-nighs.....but I ain't giving up! Plenty of good Merlots out there that I want to try. Is merlot ok for this binge image thing?!

It's great, I like it and I think it's good for the country.
Do people really believe that in this day and age, men cannot accept a female PM in Aussie? It maybe so around the vaucluse Liberal's BBQ and full cow on a spit piss up held by your local bloke National, but the majority of Aussies are way past that rubbish.
I'm a believer! A country that expects its new arrivals to learn about cricket and Aussie 'no-rules' football clearly has an attitude problem from the top down. Oddly, most Australian women have their heads in the sand and wouldn't recognise this fact if it bit them on the bum.
The Aussies are way past that rubbish?! I WISH!
And for the record Bafana, one of Mr Rudd's proud moments was his government's apology to our dark brothers. But like you, I'm really pleased about Oz having a female Aussie PM. I hope they allow her time to get into top gear before they start stirring the possum. BTW, with that hair, any money the media will start calling her 'Bluey'! :P
Ranga VS the budgie smuggler..... should be an interesting election

People with red hair, especially blokes, get called Bluey. Peculiar lot they are in Oz.... more of an old fashioned term of endearment for a red -head. Not so common now....but personally I think that Julia Gillard's very artificial red is a bit ....mm...lacking in class for PM status...but modern times I 'spose.......and the accent- well it's straight out of a bush-whacker's farm. But that's all good. She was born in Wales but sounds more Aussie than I do!
One of my colleagues is an American who'd never heard the Aussie word Pommy until I mentioned it the other day. I decided not to mention the word 'septics' !

Whether the PM is man or woman is irrelevant.

I like Rudd. He is hardworking, and sincere. But unfortunately he brushed many people and bulldozed his way through. You can't do that in western politics.

As for Gillard, only time will tell. I've already spotted some of her bullshit here and there before this episode. So, hopefully it will turn for the better.

For the Liberal, personally I can't take them seriously as long as clown face Abbott is leader. Pardon my biased take.

As a bluey meself it is good to finally see the rise of the gingers to power.

Like OzChick, I hope she gets a chance before they start in and our media is in politically correct overdrive so she should be alright till after the next election. I was kinda hoping Penny Wong would go for the top spot meself, so she could be the first female and asian heritage PM in Aussie - That would be a good thing as well.

Btw anyone else see the similarities between Harold Holt and Abbot Costello G String Orama. Wondering if they have any russian subs for hire the next time he goes boggie boarding. That said he got lost climbing a mountain and couldn't use a sat phone so that about sums it up. All we need is a lift with a swipe card and his doomed...

Whether or not Gillard is a male or female isn't the issue at all. After all, we had a gay PM in Keating, who is now living on the NSW south coast with his long-time male partner . . . no problem with the sexual nor gender orientation. (Can gender be an orientation?)

My problem with her is that she is so very obviously in the pockets of the mining industry and her very first big decision in caning Rudd, good riddance to the prat, was at the behest of these mining giants.

To use a favourite phrase of the aforementioned Keating, Australia has turned into a real banana republic where large mult-inational corporations direct policy.

Yes, I'm a Liberal supporter, but even if a the situations were reversed I would be appalled.

I do hope she gets dumped by the population at the next election.

@ V, lucky Mr Keating is Australian .That sort of hear say over here would land you a $100 million libel suit.

Would we see a woman PM in Singapore?

No, no Raden . . . it's a fact. After he split up with his pot-ugly Dutchie he shacked up with his bum-boy . . . they have a very nice house just a few kms away from our week-ender.

. . . and absolutely nothing wrong with being gay . . . even for a swine like Keating

Ermm, still hearsay V..just your words in cyberspace. I will believe if I see them shacked up together okay maybe I don't want to be a witness but anyhooo you get the drift...

I don't really care about ones sexuality or gender ,don't think this should be an issue but good governance should.
