Helpful Local and Medical Travel Resource

Post by GH1 » Wed, 16 Jun 2010 11:39 am

As an expat living in and out of Singapore and Bangkok for the last 5 years, I have had my share of medical issues in both cities and just as many problems finding reliable doctors and hospitals. I recently came across http://www.mywellcard.com, which seems to be a great resource for medical information and even travel discounts. I have signed up for their free membership, but have yet to use it and cant comment on their services. However, I am familiar with a number of their medical partners and can recommend them.

If they really can provide direct medical discounts through Southeast Asia, this will be an amazing resource. Has anyone else used this card or know if it is serious? Are there any strings attached?

I hope this helps others out their seeking medical treatment here or abroad.

Joined today, four posts today, all flogging the same two sites. Couldn't possibly be a local spammer could it? :o

i didnt think i would have to defend trying to help people out in an area that caused me much trouble, namely finding quality and trustworthy doctors in Singapore and whether not to travel to thailand, which is obviously a huge issue for others as given the size of these forums. The fact that this service can simplify the process for anyone, coming from a company i have worked with and trust for medical procedures, seems like a huge asset and beneficial to anyone, particularly given that it seems to offer multiple destinations and medical options.

If you want to crucify me for sharing a positive international cosmetic surgery experience and something i think will help people who were in my position, fine, then congrats on destroying the purpose of these community driven boards.

and, before quoting my other posts, try reading them more carefully. While 3 of them mentioned this site to various interested parties, 1 certainly did not (involved a chiropractor). another one discussed a specific surgeon that a poster was interested in, and i had experience with.

congrats on your great detective work, so much for trying to help the community.....

That's why I phrased it as a question instead of our normal habit of just summarily deleting and banning spammers. I gave you a chance to defend yourself. Oh, by the way, normal spammer trick is to post a couple of innocuous posts before link spamming. Generally if it looks like a duck....etc.

But, seeing you were using a local ISP I thought I'd see if you were for real or not. :-k
