Shipping. You're warned.

Post by ozchick » Sun, 13 Jun 2010 5:28 pm

Mm....can't name names until my shipment gets delivered. After that time I will. Otherwise they might dump it in the ocean. Please pm me to ask me if you're about to organise shipping. If you go with this company you will be sorry. I did all my homework, researched and covered the bases. But nothing was able to protect me from the underquoted cubic metres. So I'm now out of pocket by thousands. And then there was a TOTAL lack of organisation on every issue, not to mention that the shipment will probably arrive when I'm not there so that I'll have to pay storage fees...the list goes ON and ON.
These guys are the Fawlty Towers of shipping with a dash of 'Who gives a ****?' for good measure.

sorry to hear, ozchick :(

this is partly the reason why I recommend selling up & rebuying upon arrival. Usually (I think) people are ok when shipping stuff...

It's these sorts of nightmare scenario's that you mentioned that makes you wonder was it all really worth the trouble.. :(

edit: we had a different nightmare many years ago when our stuff finally arrived after we shipped it. The local law at the country we were shipping to was that tax had to be paid on new items we were bringing with us.

and it was up to the discretion of the guy inspecting whether the item was 'new' or not. an old atari 2600, which was old to australia at the time,.. was looked upon as new technology where we were going... my dad put on quite the performance in convincing the guy.. 'it's all rubbish.. most of this is throwawayable.. just it has sentimental value'

Well despite the extra costs that I've copped, replacing the furniture would have cost way more to replace. Well, to this point anyway...yet to see if any 'other end' costs get passed onto me. Ah yeah.... it's all fun. And welcome back 'splatted'! I may come back too in the next few years. Gonna miss Sg, big time. And I'm sure as hell not in a hurry to go back to Oz.

Thanks ozchick. Been back for a couple weeks.. Today was my first day at work too. Surprisingly, customers are more patient than I expected (given my lack of local working experience).

Hope things are going well at your end. Have you started work yet?

I have used Nihal Freight for my shipping n so far never had problems. 97337326 is the contact number . Mr. Sanjay. I used their services when importing all my personal items into Singapore n again used them when i was going back to Delhi for a month's break.

Hmmm, having looked at your previous posts Skylogger, all of which seem to be promoting this same company, except one, where (after you'e previously promoted the company) you ask for promotion of a shipping company and then a "new" user with a similar name comes on to the board and posts the details of this same shipping company.

I would place $500 on the fact that you are Mr Sanjay at Nihal Freight (or someone very close to him) and you have personally something to gain from recommending/advertising your company.

Do you think we are all daft? There's a classified section for selling your services, I certainly won't be using you if this is the way you like to work!

Oh, btw, what type of "computer game" do you work on? :o

And you'd really SHIP items via FREIGHT for a one-month holiday to Delhi?

Suspending disbelief for at least that, I'd be shocked if any lorry could get to Delhi with your goods from *any* port in India in under one month.

SE, I can make posts with two different accounts with no IP address connections!

It's called a Virtual Private Network, doesn't prove anything, to be fair, if I was trying to hoodwink people into believing that I was two people I'd do just that!
