Baby and dual citizenship

Post by Guest » Sun, 31 Oct 2004 10:16 pm

I'm Singaporean, but hubby and baby aren't. I'm thinking of applying for dual citizenship for the young 'un, but would like to know the advantages and pitfall of doing so. Any advise?

Yes if he renounces citizenship before 18 years old - If after then have to do NS or not allowed to live Singapore.

Happened to a friend of mine.

believe dual citizenship only applicable if your child was born outside of singapore and had obtain the other country's citizenship by birth - http://www.sif.org.sg/os/whkpdf/immigration.pdf (refer to pg 3) however need to choose before age of 21
