I am a 29 m Indian here in singapore for past 6 months.
My kid sis is back in India working as a content writer (she is also an editor on a community newsletter). I am keen to get her here to stay with me. She has tried to apply for EPSC but it got rejected (she has completed 12+ 3 education and has about 2.5 yrs of experience)
Can anyone suggest of suitable opportunities here? Would it make sense for her to come down on a tourist visa and search fora job? Any suggestions or workarounds would be great.

Without a degree the odds are greatly against her and she will probably be just wasting her time and money. Those with degrees are getting bounced. But don't let commonsense get in the way. Tell her to come anyway and at least have a vacation and see the sights here.

What is "content"? A fairly worthless word in attempting to describe the actual writing she does. Porn script writers provide content. So do knowledge base writers. And a lot in between.

Even a blog post or a forum post can be termed as content. I am pretty sure that since you are a "moderator" u would understand that pretty well. Would appreciate if you can post something meaningful or helpful.

And maybe you could understand that any opportunities available might be dependent upon the type of 'content' she produces. I did post something helpful... a request to more clearly define what she writes. You chose to ignore it.

Your attempt to condemn those that would seek to clarify is surprising. However, considering your post above, I would say, because anybody who has ever written even a letter, by your definition, would be a content writer, then your kid sister doesn't have a chance in hades of securing a job here as it's something anybody can do. (You took umbrage, instead of clarifying just what her writing background entailed)
Now, would you like to try again......

most positions open in the country currently i believe are editor jobs..but even that will be difficult to get as you mentioned her experience is 2.5 years. i have 10 years and i find it hard to break into. I had some interviews but I need to adjust to the industry in the country as well as the writing style plus i think i will be caned if i do end up writing for the one that must not be named....
if she is open to start lower then she can try but it will be better if she explore other types of jobs.goodluck

I find your response obnoxious and rude. There are better ways of asking and there are people like sundaymorninnstaple who get the gist of the conversation and respond appropriately.

I would suggest you go back and read your post replying to Strong Eagle.. Now THAT's obnoxious, rude and biting the hand that was trying to feed you. You'll go far, and we hope soon.
