oh so it doesn't have to be sleek neat that kinda bun? oh yeah, its a good tip u've got there... abt bringing black pins..hee. thks again =)stupidangelss wrote:Hi butterfliesweet,
when i went for the kebaya round, they provided some rubber bands for those who let down their hair. you can just tie it into a loose bun. i had a couple of black pins in my coin pouch so i just twist it and pin it up.
hope that helps.

gd luck to everyone going for management next week!!
questions they asked me were: (there were many! couldn't remember everything cuz it went in a flow, according to what you've answered)
however, word of caution: the questions posed to me were mainly about why i want to do this despite having a degree which is totally unrelated to customer service.
1. tell us about yourself and your family. (i think this was a given so everyone should prepare something interesting and different to say.)
2. what did you study in school? and why? (definitely don't say something like "because i had no choice"....)
3. why do you want to be a flight stewardess? (prepare this especially if your course in poly or uni is unrelated to customer service. and prepare to justify the reason.)
4. if you do not get this job, what will you be doing? (applied to me as this would be my first permanent full time job.. if possible, reveal what jobs you've applied esp. if they are front line jobs which are related to customer service)
5. what do you see yourself in 10 years time? (be positive and say that "if i GET this job, i would.....", to show that you've thought about your future career paths after employment in SIA)
6. are you an emotional person? (caution: if you said that you're emotional (which i did
) prepare to justify how would it affect or not affect your work as a flight stewardess)
7. if you had a bad customer experience in the day, would you get a sleepless night? how would you deal with the emotions or frustrations?
8. did you have a sleepless night last time? (haha because i had huge eyebags...
)
9. what is your weakness? (be humble and say something that would not jeopardize your chances..)
10. relate an instance where you've felt satisfaction in customer service. (definitely prepare and keep in mind some experiences in customer service which you are proud of..)
11. have you applied before? which round did you go? why do you think you failed? --> very important so prepare to say why and what actions you've done to prepare and improve yourself before this interview.
12. finally, do you have any questions to ask?
the interviewers were very friendly and very nice! personally i felt that they wanted to see your passion and how MUCH you really want this. so appear enthusiastic, interested and thoughtful, show that you've prepared for this interview or tell them you've been waiting for this day
i think the potential and importance of preparation has been underestimated.. try to review your application form and think of the possible questions they would ask. they did not ask me any questions about the company nor did they ask me scenario questions. instead everything was about myself.
finally gd luck to everyone who are going for management next week. don't give up hope. personally i tried thrice! first, in 2004 in which i failed at management round then i decided to go university. this year i tried again in march 2007 and had a rude shock at 1-to-1 HR round where i failed. THEN i tried again in april and passed
so smile, prepare beforehand and be cheerful, enthusiastic and interested during the interview
gd luck!!
